Even though Shelter in Place restrictions are being relaxed in many locations, please remember that all CLL patients are immune-compromised and at higher risk for infection. Stay safe! Posted by Patty Koffman

Good reminder. Thanks! Here in British Columbia, restrictions are going to relax tomorrow (Tuesday). Restaurants are going to re-open and are allowed 50% capacity, and up to 6 people at a table but each table must be 2 meters (6 feet) apart from other tables. And one person at each table must give a phone # to restaurant which restaurant will keep on file for 30 days in case contact tracing is required.
Nevertheless... I don't plan to eat in any restaurants or really change my own isolating protocol at all. But I suspect my grocery trips will be riskier because everyone else will be more relaxed about social distancing.
Can you do pickup at the grocery Kim? That is what we have been doing and plan to do until there is a proven vaccine.
We are starting Faze 1 in Ontario today. Restaurants opened only for pickup or delivery. Even that feels like a little holiday.
Stay safe and sane

I’m staying in super lockdown. My daughter moves into a caravan on our drive on Friday - so she can return to school and all. Weather is lovely, my bees are buzzing - life is good. We’re going to be broke but better to have health than wealth - there are no pockets in a shroud.
So true Sepsur! Better to have health than wealth! I'm happy to hear your daughter is moving into the caravan so you can better maintain your isolation. Good luck!
Glad you got it sorted Sepsur! 👍
When my son returns to his Centre, I might end up in the shed! This is the challenge for the immune compromised who are also carers!

I hate this disease😥
Bad day? 🌼
No I will always feel like this about this demon. I say what I feel and I will always always hate it.
Thank you,
I think we might have to be even more careful now, with all kinds of openings and a lot of people taking advantage of the new freedoms.

This is such an important message Patty. I’m wondering how our members intend to protect themselves if they are living in homes with family members who may be returning to work or children going back to school. It’s a real dilemma and not always possible to live separately.
Newdawn
Hi, Newdawn. Separate bathrooms, much handwashing, social-distancing, and paper plates, etc. while not fool-proof, would make me feel a lot better. Patty
I am so glad you asked this question, Newdawn. Though my son's school has officially ended for summer, he is now back at work. I don't have any other place to go. I am so tired of being scared!!!
I totally understand Horatio and I wish I had answers that could totally take away your fears. As Patty has said, we can try our very best to keep a distance in the house although that’s not always easy and be scrupulous about hand washing and hygiene. I’m a carer for my son who is autistic so moving out isn’t an option and frankly I couldn’t stand it anyway!
The reality is we will be living with some degree of risk for a considerable period of time and we need to put in place our own risk management strategies that fit in with our lifestyles. Many have been living with key workers and partners out working and they are careful to make sure the returning person showers and changes clothes on returning. Take temperatures regularly. I’ll be doing it at the door!
Best wishes,
Newdawn
I am really trying to stay at my home having groceries delivered or using the pickup option. I keep in touch with my friends via telephone calls or skype or zoom. I am stage 0 W&W for the past 3 years. I know that my immunoglobulins are low. While my IGG is just a tad in the lower level of normal my IGA and IGM are way below normal. I just had my immunoglobulins tested in November. I really don't share or tell people about my CLL. Only family and a few close friends and my doctors know. Two weeks ago my water well pump broke and it had to be replaced. I had to have two men come to my house. They mostly worked outside at the well but did have to come in my basement twice. One man rang my doorbell and he wasn't wearing a mask. I asked him where his mask was and that he needed to wear a mask. He said to me "Look you want your well fixed?" I was surprised by this comment. The manager then came over and I said listen I have to tell you something....I'm immunocompromised....I have leukemia (didn't say what kind).....I need you to wear a mask and keep your distance. With that comment both men put on their masks and were exceedingly respectful after that. I hated to do that. I really did. I wish people would take the dangers of COVid 19 seriously. I will keep my social distance and hope that I don't encounter anymore difficult people.

Hello, PSP52. Good for you! As those of us who either have CLL or are protecting someone with CLL demand that proper health and safety procedures are followed on our own property, word will spread that this is the convention expected from tradespeople and that those going against that trend will have less work. Patty
I am staying in shelter. Grocery shopping every two weeks with mask and glasses. 6 ft distancing.
