Surviving Covid19

I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with CLL 12 years ago and was on watch and wait for 10 years. I started treatment because of large lymph nodes in my neck. I opted for the Flair trial I got the ibrutinib arm and have been doing well for 15 months. In mid February my husband and I both had a virus which I am pretty sure was Covid my husband had a horrendous cough for six weeks. He was really unwell in bed for 3 days very unlike him. I had loss of taste and smell plus fatigue but no respiratory symptoms and recovered within 5 days.

There is some research to suggest that Ibrutinib protects the lungs from pneumonia. Every cloud etc!! Please remember this will pass, be gentle with yourselves and stay positive.

First time user here. Was diagnosed 3years ago and in wait and watch phase since. Few days ago found lump on my neck, not huge size of a pea. Contacted GP who has emailed my haematologist to find out what bloods to take, so still waiting! No other symptoms so not sure how worried to be. My partner also had Covid 19, we think? I say that cos no access to test, but doc said yes we think it is. Such a stressful time. Stay safe 💜

Thinking about you Tinkataz. This must be a stressful time for you. This is a good community to be connected with. The information is solid and so are the people. Sending e-hugs.

Thanks for posting your encouraging news Fenella. If you are eligible it would be important you get an antibody test. If it confirms you had it, without severe symptoms, that is valuable information in the context of Covid19 research (though whether and how such data is being collated is another matter).

Anyway, we would all be very interested!

very useful thanks for sharing
