Just to add to the confusion..

I still have not received a letter or text from .gov or NHS England re shielding but yesterday received an e-mail from the local council. It said that I had been on the list they had received from .gov saying I was in the “at risk” category, and gives advice on where to contact for further help (including the number to ring to find out when you will get your food parcel). My husband, who is also in the “at risk” category has not received any communications at all.

It's all a bit like first rehearsal at amateur dramatics isn't it.

I registered on .gov.uk as extremely vulnerable so I could get a delivery slot from Sainsbury's. That still hasn't happened, but I did receive a standard gov food parcel, unwanted and since given to a good bank. I re-registered to opt out but found no way of doing so. Meanwhile Tesco emailed to say I am now on their priority delivery list, but guess what, no delivery slot available any time soon. Fortunately we have a helpful neighbour.

Good bank? No such thing exists, this is an invention of autocorrect, a misnomer in itself.

Hi maybe the letters are lost in the post?

I believe, as long as you are on the council list you will get what you need.

It’s true that we haven’t had much post, but we have had some - but no text or e-mail either. I’m not particularly bothered at present as we are managing ok, but it must be worrying for others.

No text or letter here either. Very little normal post. Still got some junk mail though! 😬.

I received the letter from the Govt today which has been sent to everyone telling us things will get worse and to stay in the house and follow the precautions that are mentioned a hundred times a day. The Government said that the letter will cost around £5.7 million ($7.1 million) to print and distribute to the UK's 66 million residents. I think there was better use of this money in all honesty!

Hi Newdawn I agree. I suppose it must be to cover those who don’t have or watch TV or listen to radio?

Or perhaps their are legal reasons? Your guess is as good as mine
