Anticipating starting venetoclax

Hearing that we have 10 confirmed cases of corona close by & two girls from my daughter’s school have been asked to self-isolate ( reasons unspecified) - could be zits or halitosis (?)

Coupled with this is that I’m starting venetoclax next Monday - my stomach is flipping a bit - so I spent the weekend sorting out the lower bathroom - sorry if you live in Cheshire and can’t find any paper 😳

I can imagine it would be, Sepsur, it’s getting a bit unsettling. However, you are well armed with all that toilet paper and your sense of humour. Good luck to you and to all in this community.

Hi Miles, are you preparing for venetoclax or the coronavirus? :)

Your anxiety about starting venetoclax is perfectly natural after everything you've been through. However, I have a very strong feeling you'll be fine. My husband took Imodium in his case - not everyone has that issue - and consequently, it didn't impact him very much.

If you are 'preparing' for the coronavirus (lol), you might find the article below interesting. It is about the psychology behind toilet paper hoarding. :)

All the best with your treatment and please keep us updated how it goes.

Will do - I found Imodium to be a very useful tool 😀

Love the picture! I’m sorry that your Venetoclax start up is complicated by all of the Coronavirus issues. I suspect that all of us will end up a couple of degrees of separation from it eventually. I wish I had more faith in the way it is being handled nationally. Are you in Cheshire, CT? My first teaching job was in Meridan, CT and my father’s brother and his family lived in Cheshire.

What happened to edit? Someone at HU playing around with something that worked - again! I realized that you are Cheshire in the UK - probably where Cheshire, CT got its name.

😂😂😂 excellent photo Sepsur. People seem to be doing well on Venetoclax and some even get into uMRD (hopefully cure 🤞🏻)

Your supply of toilet paper is in order and if you don’t need it you can open a store haha

Sorry about your worries about your daughter. The school should explain the reason for isolation of those two girls and let parents know if they were isolated before they came in contact with the rest of the kids in school.

Hope all works out for you and your family 🤗

Sep,

Venetoclax is my friend.

Have good run with the big V, and guard your TP.

All humour and smug criticsism of panic-buying aside; I remember in the 70s there was a rumour that sugar would be in shortage. My mother stocked up with 43kg (around 90 pounds US) in every cupboard in the house. It took yearsafter I'd left home to use the bloody stuff up because we barely used sugar anyway and I don't think there ever was a real shortage! - hey ho.

I was due to start my chemotherapy last week but my haematologist advised against because my immune system would be completely knocked out and I would be vulnerabe to infection just as Public Health England reckons Covid-19 will peak and the risks would be too great to run. My chemo has been delayed by two months as a result. A pain in the arse but on the overall balance, probably wise.
