Raw could be a problem if your immune system is compromised ( a very common issue for CLLers). Neither will improve things CLL wise.
Bee pollen and raw honey are neither good nor bad for CLL. Their nutrients will have the same effect on the body whether the body has CLL or not.
Only certain honey has any ‘medicinal’ properties - most over the counter supermarket honey isn’t really honey. It has been harvested too early and still has too much water/nectar content.
If you buy nice expensive honey and think it will do you good either in cooking or with lemon in a hot drink - think again. Warming the honey destroys all its properties. Whilst it might be soothing & taste nicer than sugar - essentially - it has become just a sweetener. All health improving enzymes are destroyed by heat.
For the first autumn/winter after my ICU experience - I took a teaspoon full of Manuka honey (£25 a jar stuff - with correct labelling) with breakfast. That first winter with IVIGs was fairly germ free. I was less conscious of my CLL then -
I appreciate that this proves nothing hardly constituting’a trial’ 😂😂😂.
Raw honey is the only honey that one could consider ‘good’ for you. I don’t know if it is benefit or a hindrance to CLL.
Thanks so much for your response. I was using Manila but didn’t realize heating destroys the properties. I was hoping the bee pollen would be beneficial for CLL.
