Hi C3PO1. I think the caution against eating raw foods with CLL is if you are neutropenic, at which point you need to follow neutropenic protocols, which include various dietary restrictions for safety. If you're not neutropenic, I would say eat normally. Some people here might say a CLL person's immune function is always compromised, regardless of neutrophil status. But for me, I feel fine about eating anything, including well washed raw food, if I am not neutropenic.

Thanks a lot for your answer!
If you google neutropenic diet, you will find many different lists. Here is one: hillman.upmc.com/patients/c...
Basically, the idea is to avoid foods that may have bacterial or mold/fungus contamination, including fermented foods, and many raw foods that cannot easily be washed.
I have used ground flax seed on my food for added fiber before W&W, during WW , during treatment and after treatment (chemo). No issues.
The other option is to add them to
Porridge or even buy a porridge that has them in and so cook them. That’s what I’ve been doing lately having found an Aldi organic porridge that has all kinds of seeds in and is yummy.
I can't eat seeds due to diverticulitis and short bowel, so I sprout them... very tasty.. my favourite are broccoli spouts... great in soups and salads etc. and they freeze well

I use ground flax seeds in cereal, nut breads, cookies, etc. -things that are cooked or baked. I haven’t had any problems with them that way.
I use flax which I grind fresh just prior to use and add to cooked steel cut oats. Nothing to do with CLL, this has just been my breakfast pattern since before CLL diagnosis. No issues since CLL, even with low neuts. Chia is something I use weekly rather than daily, but no problems. For that matter I use a ton of caraway, fennel, celery seeds, cooked and uncooked as well.
Flax may cause gas and awkward silences a few hours after consumption.
I eat “health warrior chia bars “ and they have been good for me.
