In some countries, certain medications that are "newer" cannot be used as frontline treatment, so often Drs. use a current frontline treatment first, which helps to clear the CLL to a degree for some (others get a long remission with the chemo frontline).
When it is time for another treatment, the "newer/novel" medicine is the next treatment.
The use of any of the treatments is decided on the particular profile of a CLL patient.
Two basic foods to NOT eat while on Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) are grapefruit including
grapefruit juice and Seville oranges (used to make marmalade), so NO marmalade.
Here is a site that is patient information for Imbruvica for you to have handy:
No homeopathy during any treatment for CLL. The Ibrutinib is enough to handle, and for any side effects, the Dr. who is treating the CLL is the one to ask for help.
