before de BMT she had CLL, now Drs say just patience, because after all the Chemos she had her recovery is gonna take long, Drs believe too much chemo caused the CLL.. she had in total like 7 years of chemo, twice every month, sometimes because the effect once every 2 months.. before the CLL she had cancer the Intestines.

Thanks for responding Ivote.

Menin, I am sorry for the situation your girlfriend is having to endure. It is understandable that you and she are upset after so long a travail. But, one thing that is most likely true for her, is the fact that she did have another cancer that was treated before CLL and that would have weakened her immune system.

I wish there was an answer for you as to time--but we are each individuals, and have each had different experiences in our lives and time can weigh heavy if we are waiting expectantly.

The Drs. have to be assured of her safety and it is their task to keep her from any harm as best they can. The immune system takes a long time to recover, so even when she is released, she will still have to be very careful with her self-care.

Your being strong for her is important. And if you have friends and family you can ask to support you in this time of waiting, and let her know that you are all there for her and know she is being strong, while sad and lonely for her familiar surroundings, that is a way for you to help her.

If you have access to a social worker or therapist for you to talk with on a regular basis to get your frustrated feelings and sorrow heard, please do that. You can relieve some of your stress and your being strong in this time can be very helpful to your friend. It is important for you to take care of yourself so your can help her when she is released to go home.

Menin,

Your post is so touching and your girlfriend is very fortunate to have someone like you to care for her so deeply.

This is so hard on you both. Cllady01 had very good advice and as hard as it is on you, it is good that the Doctors are keeping your girlfriend's care a high priority.

I wish both of you the very best outcome as soon as possible.

Big hug,

D.
