One Day at a Time

Hi CLL People,

It's been a while since I posted (4 years while to be more precise) and in that time I've been doing exactly as above - taking it 1 day at a time.

I have little to report - my bloods have remained pretty constant and my hospital doctor (I have no Consultant) said at our last meeting that they were near normal which left me afterwards thinking "have I actually got CLL? Yes of course I have - all the typical symptoms are there - principally the fatigue and insomnia, but no swellings thank goodness. I continue to be on Watch and Wait with 6-monthly blood tests.

So, I shall continue as I am having passed the 70 mark, enjoying life the best I can with the occasional burst of excitement, the last of which was jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 15,000 feet and performing a sponsored tandem Sky Dive in aid of Leukaemia Care.

Best wishes to All :)

mister_Ian_NE, a borderline believable feat, but I do actually believe you, and I thank you for your effort on behalf of Leukaemia Care!

I plan to join others in an LLS Light the Night fundraising event in October, but will definitely keep both feet on the ground. I could never do what you did!

Wow!! sounds like a great life! That's very encouraging news to hear. But I'll keep my travels to the inside of the plane if I may! Regards,

That’s awesome! What I did was make a deal with hematologist/oncologist at that time when I wondered if I even had the disease. Once a year visit but if I noticed anything at all I’d make the appt. it worked for a couple years which was a good rest from the CLL blues! Good luck

No Sir,

15,000feet ...... first 10,000 free-falling maxing at 120mph then a gentle glide down to earth for the last 5,000.

Happy Landing :) :)
