Hi Everyone,

My numbers are really increasing- I’m scheduled to do the 3rd CBC in less than 3 weeks. The talks are getting more serious about starting a drug trial soon. I would like to be where my doctor is but I love my job and traveling over 2 hours (KC where he is)would be a struggle. So 2 questions 1. Anybody on this trial?

2. I’ve found this same trial just 20 minutes from my home - I’m thinking on the IV days I might only have to miss a half day work. Should I be nervous that my doc is not there to watch over my progress and is not affiliated with that hospital?

3. I get the feeling that my doctor is more excited about this trial that just starting the traditional treatments that are available now.

Oops I see I have 3 issues/questions. Good thing I don’t teach math!

I see the appeal of that trial - and why your own doctor would be excited about it since that combo wouldn't be available to him to give you in clinical practice yet, I don't think (Ibrutinib and Obinutuzumab With or Without Venetoclax).

What would he be offering you if you didn't do this trial? The trial looks very good. Really the dream trial for any of us. Good luck with the decision.

I’m not sure what he would do. It’s one of my first questions I’m asking once I have my 3rd blood draw faxed to him on Tuesday

aquafinn,

Are you aware that the Obinutuzumab and Venetoclax combination is now FDA approved, and some insurance companies will provide coverage for that therapy?

My husband is on that trial, there are many people on this forum on it as well. He's on the I+O+V arm and it's been nothing short of fantastic for him. We are loving the free meds and the great monitoring and contributing to data for future combo approvals. - Mindy
