I was diagnised with CLL in NI’ve. 2018 and have been doing okay until now. I got a very uncomfortable staph infection and was put in Cephalexun (Keflex) 2 days ago. The first infection cleared up but last night two more appeared red, hot, itchy and crusty. Does this mean this may be the wrong antibiotic? Any one else experience this? I try not to take many drugs so I am Leary of trying too many antibiotics for this.
I would appreciate advice and support. I am 68, female, living alone in Northern Ca.
Thank you

Similar experienceright now and was switched to Augmentin duo forte, but having a swab cultured is the best way to find that you are prescribed the right antibiotic(s). That takes time, so expect to switch first. Two days isn't long - these infections take time ~10 day's, to resolve for healthy people.
I've found using essential oils on the infected areas will clear it up. It takes longer, but I don't have to take oral antibiotics, which I have had many allergic reactions to. I use a few drops of tea tree oil and oregano oil mixed in coconut oil and apply twice a day. This has worked quite a few times for me. I also went through the house and washed towels, sheets, etc. in HOT water to kill any staph hanging around
I'm supposed to start on Ibutrinib. But I was advised to take Allopurinol to prevent gout before I started the Ib, and I had a severe allergic reaction to that. Now am on steriods for the next month until everything calms down again. I will be starting on 140 mg. Diet has become problematic. First I eliminated dairy. Now many foods with high histamines bother me. Tomatoes, salmon, tuna, anything fermented, citrus foods, alcohol, etc. Hoping things will turn around once I get on the Ibrutrinib.
