I’ve been on Ibrutinib, 840 mg a day, for a couple months. I’ve had a complete going away of lesion in my brain from non Hodgkin lymphoma. Now after blood work my dr says my liver enzymes keeps rising. He told me to stop the drug all week end and have my blood drawn again Monday. Any tips to tell me? I already don’t smoke or drink.

Ibrutinib and liver enzymes
Think you mean 480mg... the standard CLL/SLL dose?
Are you exercising regularly?

Yes, I walk every morning. I try to hve the 10,000 steps by night as well as lifting weights every other day
This is a typical dose of Ibrutinib in NHL of CNS in order to get a sufficiently high concentration in brain and CSF.

Do you know if your Dr checked for Hep B infection, reactivation of the virus can cause elevated liver enzymes when on Ibrutinib.
I hope a short stop sorts the problem out for you.
I was on Ibrutinib for two weeks during the summer(at the NIH) before I had an allergic reaction to it and my liver enzymes (ALT & AST) went from somewhere in the 20s to mid 4000s. I was immediately taken of everything and it took six weeks to get back to normal. I've been told now I can never have Ibrutinib or anything similar again.
Pat,
Did they say that the reaction was unusual?
Jeff
Hi:
I have similar issues. While my AST and ALT have gone up slightly my bilirubin has doubled to 26 in less than one year on iBrutinib. My specialists are monitoring but have not taken any action. Wondering if hti si a concern or if others have had this issue? BTW have been tested for Hep and negative and I am very fit and exercise a lot.
That’s quite a high dosages...
How are you getting on? Were you able to continue with treatment?
So, I went off the drug for a month until my liver enzymes went back to normal. Actually, I think it was a little longer. My enzymes went down slow. Than I resumed but took 5 pills a day instead of six. Well, no more problems! I’m so happy. My dr says I might be able to go off these pills in another 6 months or so. He’s the dr at Sloan Kettering in nyc and he thinks the drug has killed the cancer permanently. I guess we will see. How are you feeling?
Just reading this now Carmelofan. I hope you are still doing well with the 5 pills a day.
The five pills a day are working great. The dr says maybe another 6 months. We will see. How are you?
