I have been a wait & watch with my CLL for 4 years. Recently, I've been told I have skipped heart beats, which come & go. I'm seeing a cardiologist who has ordered an echocardiogram, and a Holter monitor to check my heart rate for 24 hrs. Is this related to my CLL, I'm 69 years old?
Thank you, Winsey

I've had skipped beats since I was 18 and was dx with CLL in 2008. I know they are not related, at least in my case. My skipped beats are benign. The cardiologist put me on a beta blocker to help with the issue and I have to watch my caffeine intake as that increases them. Alcohol will too at times as well as stress can bring them on. I, too, went through an echo and had a 24 hour heart monitor to diagnose the problem. I see the cardiologist once a year and he does an EKG to keep tabs on things. I have had them for so long that I hardly notice them anymore. But it's a good idea to check out what's causing them.
