vinnet, I am not a Dr. so my reply is not to be taken as definitive, however, I (CLL w/w since 2001) have not heard of burning stomach/abdomen as a CLL problem
You are correct, in my opinion, to go to a gastro to for such a pain. I think a spleen pain would be more sharp and located on the left side of your abdomen.
Let us know what you find out. It is not unusual for any of us to think first of CLL with any pain or discomfort we have, but we have to remember that we also need the expertise of physicians other than the hemo/onco.
Best wishes for finding the problem and getting it under control.
I feel so reassured from responses on this forum!! It indeed is a great support.
What is your age Cllady ?
I am m66 and my GOAL/WISH/PRAYER is what you have already achieved. 10 to 15years of W&W is what I desperately look for. I want to pass away with cll and due to cll or its treatment.
I agree with cllady01 - reply. You provide, vinnet too little information to enable really useful advice - you do need expert assessment, not all our symptoms are CLL related. I note you posted about this 2 years ago...
I had dreadful stomach symptoms before and shortly after my diagnosis and it was anxiety. I’ve often described that tight, burning knot I had in my stomach after diagnosis that felt as if it might strangle my insides. It gradually subsided and I’ve not required treatment for it.
This may not be the same for you Vinnet but I recall you do suffer with anxiety about your condition and the constant churning can create gastrointestinal distress. Once you’ve checked out the physical reasons, consider it may be caused by stress and find ways and means to calm yourself. I know it’s not easy where you reside to get counselling help Vinnet but it’s amazing how anxiety can cause physical symptoms.
This was my experience but of course it may not apply to you.
It got this and more when I free relised what CLL was. On watch and worry this is one of the main things, thinking every pain is the start of something scary
Hi Vinnet. I too have burning stomach pain that sometimes radiates to my back. It got so bad about six weeks ago that I went to the ER and was told I had pancreatitis (idiopathic, meaning the doctors have no idea why I got this since I drink little alcohol and have no gall bladder issues). I spent five days in the hospital. The pain comes and goes and is no longer constant but I feel very unwell when it is there. Get it checked out. Best of luck to you and hooefully it will subside on its own.
Thanks Jackpot for sharing your experience. I saw a.GP ( in India, it is a full day exercise to get to the GP). She said that for next few days i shud carefully note what have i eaten and its effect on level of burning sensation. She thinks some allergic reaction?
