My OH had his last (of 4) FCR treatments in August. He had not tolerated them well, so each session was less than the last. Haematologist says treatment has been 99% successful, and now just try to get on and live life as normal.
He is definitely gaining in energy - back cycling regularly, needing fewer naps - but platelet levels staying resolutely low, around 55. Is this standard? We had hoped they would be moving towards 'normal' levels by now.

It's good news that he is gaining energy and that his haematologist is so pleased with the results following the chemo.
Regarding his platelets, I'm not sure how long it takes, it can vary a lot from person to person. However, he can manage reasonably well with a platelet count of 55 and is not at risk of excessive bleeding, so that shouldn't be too much of a worry.
