Hi everyone. I am having my first lot of FCR and this is the first day at home with all my tablets! So many! Can I ask those of you that were given domperidone for sickness if you took them when you didn’t feel sick or just when you did? It says I can have 3 per day. I don’t feel sick yet. Thank you.

It is normal to take the anti sickness pill before your chemo tablets. Can't remember the name of mine but 1 had to be taken an hour before any chemo tablets. Also I was given two types just in case nausea was bad.

Do not wait until you are sick before taking the pills.

Therefore if in doubt phone the haematology nurse. Do it today.

Thank you. Yes I’ve just taken one. It was only half an hour before the chemo tablets so I hope it works. Thank you.

Still worth a check if you are unsure. Nausea or feeling sick really starts for some on the third day of taking the chemo tablets and lasts 2 or 3 days. Appetite might go on two of the days but do not worry. Drink plenty of water and suck boiled sweets. I chose sherbet lemons as they were tangy. Eat when you want not when others think you should. Eat what you want but try to be healthy. No alcohol for two weeks and better not at all. Appetite returns to normal after the first week of each cycle.

You can do it.

Thank you that’s very helpful. I’ll take my next one an hour before my next lot. Yes I will buy some sucky sweets. My mouth is so dry but I’m drinking loads of water.

Sounds as we're at the stage , I've just finished my day 3 of chemo tablets and even though I've had very little sickness , I'm still taking the tablets and will do . Day 4 was a wipeout day with very little food but water to drink . Take it easy sleep when you need to and look after yourself

Do not worry sounds normal. Day 5 might be the same. Just think of the good it is doing. Lympocycte numbers usually crash downwards.

Thank you. My day 3 of tablets is tomorrow. It’s hard to know if I’m imagining nausea at the moment so I’m probably not that bad either. Very constipated though so I’ve had prunes for breakfast and I’ll take a laxative tonight. Good luck to you. We can do it! X

Make sure you take them, whether you feel sick or not. The night of day three/4 was when I got caught out. Loads of people are not though. Good luck!

Chris Dwyer suggests opening the pills over a large bowl so you don't crawling on the floor looking for escapees. Not a problem in the US, as FCR is all infusions, but I think it is in most other countries.
