Hi everyone, I'm reading new posts every day. This site helped me a lot to understand cll.
My mom was dx with cll in april 2017. She is on w&w, but for the last 3 days she has had a fever around 37.5, sometimes it goes down to 37, but it returns again to 37.5. Should she take some medicine or this is normal for cll patients?

Hi, I started off with SLL, and now have Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma and through it all my temperature keeps in rising, getting as high as 38 degrees then falling back down again. I was told by the Doctors that having a high temperature is common with this disease we have, and I take paracetamol to bring it down.
Maybe your Mum could speak to her own Doctors just to put her mind at rest.
Do you have recent infection fighting blood test results for your mom? From them you can check how healthy her neutrophil counts are. The other test worth knowing the results from is immunoglobulin levels (IgA, IgG and IgM), but given your mom was only diagnosed this year, they should be fine. If your mom's infection fighting blood tests results are low, or she has recently been likely (severely) ill with a virus, she could be struggling to overcome infections, which are causing the temperature spikes. This might be a good time to revisit what techniques your mom is taking to avoid infection risk.
I was diagnosed about the same time in 2017 BUT as i have blood work four times a year for a different issue i can look back and better understand how my CLL progressed
The first noticeable thing was in the spring of 2016 i no longer had any immunity to outdoor allergens were i spend a great deal of time and none of the medication i had used in the past to control allergens worked anymore and this resulted in me getting sick quite a bit more than normal
I went to a ENT (ear noise and throat) and we found a new spray that worked for me quite well but it is still much harder than it was in the past to keep in control
If your mom gets congested from her allergies, that can create ideal conditions in her sinuses for secondary infections, which could be causing her moderate fevers. She might wish to be examined by her doctor in case she needs antibiotics. It's not uncommon for us with CLL to have temperature regulation challenges, but we do need to be proactive to avoid infections becoming established.
I had allergies spring and fall which developed when I moved from California to Connecticut in my early 20s. For the most part they disappeared when I moved home, but 5 minutes off of a plane back east to visit and my allergies would kick in and my temp. would go up. That was long before my CLL diagnosis.
