shortness of breath

Hi, I'm on Ibrutinib as part of the Flair trial. I've been on it for 7 months and haven't had shortness of breath. However it affects us all differently and your symptoms may not be related to the treatment at all. I would let your medical team know so they can look into it. I hope it all resolves soon.

I would advise you check the side effects of ibrutinib as I understand that chest infections and breathing difficulties may be one of them?
I would certainly report this to your medical team immediately so they can investigate.

I began ibrutinib June 1 and had chest congestion at the time. Once I began ibrutinib, I got very short of breath and my blood oxygen dropped to about 92%. I eventually got pneumonia for which no antibiotic treatment helped. We suspended treatment in mid-July.
I had a bronchoscopy and lung lavage in August and wound up in the hospital for 2 days with blood oxygen at 88%. It is mid October now and I am just now recovering with my blood oxygen level at 96 but no pneumonia.
I have not resumed treatment.
I had bilateral pneumonia from swine 'flu in March and April this year, was very ill and spent almost 3 weeks in hospital. I am mostly recovered, some residual damage to one lung. I'm not on CLL treatment yet, but I wonder if previous pneumonia makes me more vulnerable to Ibrutinib side-effects?
sorry i cannot answer, its still all new to me, sure you will be fine

The ibrutinib drug monograph in Canada was just updated to include ILD, this should be discussed with your doctor... very unlikely... but worth mentioning
