Treatment day one over. It went fairly smoothly, bit of an episode 15 minutes in. Had a drop in blood pressure, causing profuse sweating, Gasping for air & the shakes. Medics paused treatment for 30 minutes, put more fluids in then continued fluids & chemo in tandem. no further problems, Back tomorrow for more.

Hi there.

During your treatment time try to stay healthy ie partial

Hermit mode. Drink loads water and be careful with what you eat. Its only for 6 months and does help. Not sure what country you are in but here in the UK we are heading into winter.

I wish you well for your future treatments.

Sue

Ps just read a previous and you live in Lincoln, Great Britian. So as advised be extra careful, lots of germs about this time of year and you will be vulnerable. You'll probably feel off for a few days and then pick up until next your next treatment. You'll be surprised at how quickly the time goes.

Not to far away from you in sunny Suffolk.

Hi Sue, Appreciate the advice. Drinking about 8 pints of water per day whilst on treatment. (Spending hours at the loo also). I am in Lincolnshire. Have advised friends wishing to visit we will be outdoors whatever the weather. Strict hygiene routine also so fingers crossed.

Second day will not be as bad and will be quick compared to 1st day. Drink lots of water. After 4 or 5 days you'll feel better, but probably will tire quickly.

Hope is goes smoothly.

I did not get in crowds to keep well. I used a mask when I had to get out shopping. I washed my hands lots.

Hope day two goes better for you and sorry to hear of your "wobble". It's a but of a scare when you have a reaction on day one, I did with Rituximab four weeks ago and I was quite worried going in the following day for the second part. Thankfully all went well as did the next infusion last week. Keep strong and rest when you need to. Best wishes.
