Just come back from Bolton Royal, WBC is 52 (*10^9/L) still on slow burn, (48 last year) :-).

hematologist spotted higher than desired cholesterol so off to Gp and now on statins, anyone know/have had adverse side effects or know how it affects CLL. I'm not worried just curious.

I have been on statins for about 10 years before being diagnosed with CLL in 2008

6 months before being diagnosed I was switched from Lipitor to Simvastatin.

My CLL has been slow moving since diagnosis WBC and Lymphs in the 30s though I'll find out today how slow as I'm off to my haematology appointment. I don't think the statins have had any effect on the CLL in my case

Thanks for the info, I'm on low dose Atorvastatin (10mg/day) as I said just started and going for check after ~1 month.

Cheers

I think I was on 10mg Lipitor but on Simvastatin it is 40 mg. My CLL is stable

Just a follow up, I started to have severe nosebleeds which were traced back to the statins, I'm not taking any now, cholesterol is in normal (?) range for my age group (at least at last check! lol),

Not sure if any effects on CLL, mine is very slow burning ( hopefully not "borrowing trouble")
