Australia's ABC Current Affairs program 'Four Corners', this week did an expose on bullying among surgeons and the devastating consequences this entrenched practice has for its victims, both in the short and long term. Kimberley Ivory, Senior Lecturer, Population Medicine and Sub-dean Student Support, Sydney Medical School and Karen Scott, Senior Lecturer, Education, Discipline of Pediatrics and Child Health, both of the University of Sydney, wrote this follow up piece for 'The Conversation'. Well worth a read - particularly the comments from medical practitioners, for an insight into what some doctors experience in their career in Australia and no doubt in other countries too.
