Good recommendation from a health coach and detox specialist.

Shazie, these seem fairly nice, innocuous ways to help support the immune system but I can't help thinking that they are intended to 'help maintain a healthy immune system'.

I'm certainly not averse to drinking a nice herbal tea or gently brushing my skin, but somehow I can't get excited at this stage with a compromised immune system that they are going to have a significant effect.

Words like cleanse and detoxify seem to be aimed at people who are not starting with the burden of cancer of the immune system. But I'd like to think it could make a difference.

Regards,

Newdawn

I agree. If possible, try to incorporate lemon water (clean water) and herbal teas (preferably non caffeinated)in your diet. Simply they may raise your PH (if you believe in maintaining an alkaline diet). Just a suggestion.

Hi Shazie

I have seen your posts for some time, how is your CLL doing... or are you a caregiver?

Do you know a CLL specialist in San Francisco? Anyone you can recommend?

I agree with Newdawn that these are fairly nice, innocuous activities. I'm not sure that they would cause any significant change in the health of someone with CLL.

With regard to raising your PH, I thought that this article referenced from an article recently posted was very good:

I'd also be interested in the theory behind cleansing and what studies have been done in this area - particularly for people with CLL or failing that, just people needing chemotherapy, where you are extremely reliant on having a healthy liver and kidneys.

I recommend the book "Bad Science" by Ben Goldacre. I think EVERYONE would benefit from reading it, I certainly did.

Ben Goldacre writes about the science behind medicine, explaining many things that have gone terribly wrong, in traditional medicine as well as with "alternative therapies".

He's also written "Bad Pharma" which I haven't read myself, but looks equally useful. "Bad Pharma' is apparently the book that finally prompted Parliament to ask why all trial results aren't made publicly available.
