No, I took this on a five year old Sony digital camera back in winter and cheated by looking at the LCD. Took me quite a few shots to get it right and lying down would probably have been easier (until I had to get up again). The Sony seems to do better with a huge depth of focus than my new camera. You can clearly see the jetty in the background yet the seedling is only a few centimetres in front of the lens. I was fascinated to find lots of these seedlings growing above the high tide mark in beach sand. We'd had a wetter winter than usual and less winter storms - so sand hill plants were able to extend their range.
