My son is 4 month and now Weights (4.6000) he as well is eating but gaining it slowly not like he suppose to His doctors tell me as long as he gaining and eating the way he has to it’s not a problem.. And on top of that recently he started doing his poop oily the GI Doctor told me that’s when he is not Digesting the milk but his still gaining so that’s what they care about. It’s hard not to worry but as long as ur daughter is drinking like she suppose to and doesn’t stop gaining weight she should be good.
Dear Onafowokan, it is great to hear that her surgery was a success. There may be some initial weight gain issues but I would advise discussing this with your medical team and in particular your dietician as they can advise on what is 'normal' for a BA child post Kasai and if there is anything you need to do additional to what you are currently doing. They will be able to advise you and if this continues can continue to monitor your child. Many thanks and I hope you are keeping safe and well during this concerning time. Many thanks. Warmest regards, Michelle, Head of Support, Children's Liver Disease Foundation
