When I know my daughter is improving after kasai procedure? She did the surgery 10 days ago. Stool is the same color no change I think it is near to white.
Do u know any one has done this kind of treatment? When color will change into yellow or green or brown? After the surgery directly or should I wait more than a week?

Hello. I think she needs more time to determine. The labs are still off from the surgery and everything needs to normalize. It’s a very invasive surgery and the body needs to recuperate and heal still. Post op, my son had steroids, antibiotics, and ur so diol. It took a little over a month for him to get better. I hope she feels better soon
Hi, my son has the same condition, i remember that i was worried too but after a few weeks the colour changed, but i know cases that took like a month or so to change, every child is different. Don’t loose your hope it will change.
I really hope so too inshaAllah she will be fine! Keep faith. I hope they are keeping a close check on her bilirubin and GGT numbers. Also is she on Ursodiol? My son had Kasai when he was 1 month old and took 4/5 days for him to pass first stool. First couple were light pale aswell. But it got better slowly and gradually. Be brave for your child. Much love
Hi Sis, how is your baby now? my son just underwent kasai 12 days back. 2 days after kasai he passed a thick dark green stool which doctors said a good news. but soon after he was discharged a week after, his stool still pale. and his eyes are still yellow. our follow up is next week. really worried now.
Hey, their is still time for it to know if the kasai worked it could take even 3 to 6 months for the yellow eyes to go away but the color of the stool give it about a month or 2 and of course the labs will determine the kasai did not work for my son we left the hospital with a 9 thats the lowest we ever saw now his 7 months and we waiting for a transplant. Any questions u may have or concerns feel free to ask. It’s rough not to scared you but it’s good when you know someone who already went threw it which I didn’t have how this is so rare.
