Awareness of Yellow Alert

Yellow Alert is such an important part of CLDF’s work and we continue to work to raising awareness across the land. How useful had it been for you and your family? And were you aware of its existence during diagnosis? #stoolcharts #heelpricktests yellowalert.org

Sorry but I've never heard of it despite liver issues mentioned 3 years before diagnosis.

We were not aware of yellow alert before our daughter was diagnosed with BA in 1994. Unfortunately neither was our health visitor or Gp. I was told I was just a paranoid neurotic mother. If only that had been true!!! Fortunately an American nurse on the ward I was on for gallstones did know and supported me in getting help. I feel it is important to mention yellow alert to all paediatric staff I meet!! Why don't we all make sure the Gp surgeries in our area have the yellow alert info from CLDF.

thank goodness for that nurse, the lack of awareness and knowledge is a worry and sadly it is still missed. Thank you for fighting the good fight for CLDF, let us know if you need materials for medical professionals him@childliverdisease.org
