Antidepressants and Statins.

I have been taking antidepressants for approx 12 years. (present dose is 300mg per day of venlafaxine). I had a heart bypass in 2010 and have been taking statins since then.

Is it okay to take these together? Also, I've heard that statins can cause muscle problems.

I have a lot of muscle pain but put that down to my Fibromyalgia. I wondered if the statins could be making it worse.

Venlafaxine is not strictly an antidepressant but more a mood stabiliser and if you have been on them this long they are probably for life. It is fine to take these together.u

If I have any queries about mixing any drugs of any kind I always talk to my pharmacist. They are invaluable with advice and are easier to see than your GP!
