had been for a walk then this started on way home. HusbanD said it was indigestion, I'm not sure. Jaw pain lasted30-45 mins , other pain finally went after 4hrs.also felt week , light headed and tired.
Unsure whether to bother doctor tomorrow.

Hi Jane
This is definitely the sort of thing that they expect you to get checked out at A&E. Alternatively you could call NHS Direct or your GP surgery's out of hours service to get advice.
I hope it is a false alarm but better to be safe.
Best wishes

Thanks, will speak to doctor and see what they think.
please speak to your GP as women dont have the same symptom as a man does when they are having a heart attack. A lot of women dismiss the symtoms that you have having as indigestion but then find out that they have had a heart attack. Get yourself checked out please.

You should definitely make an appointment to see your GP as soon as possible. Explain the symptoms you experienced and ask him to carry out an ECG to check if it is a heart problem. If not so much the better, but it if it is the GP will refer you to the Specialist Unit at your nearest hospital and you wouldn't believe how easy they can sort out problems with invasive intervention.
Sorry that should have been WITHOUT invasive!
Hi Jane 55,
I absolutely agree with above comments. On the Facebook FH site there was a film about women having heart attacks and jaw pain was one of the symptoms. I remember it because I had not heard of it before.
I can't find it at the moment, but when I do it I will send the link.
I can only agree with all the above, except i wouldn't go via the GP....If you are having these symptoms, they are classic Angina, and you should visit an A & E that have a fast access heart clinic at the same hospital.
This way you will get all the necessary checks done there and then, and if required an immediate angiogram/plasty if needed.
Please don't delay Angina often feels like bad indegestion, except the jaw/shoulder ache.
Look after yourself

Hi Jane a bit late for an answer but I hope by now you have been seen in Hospital and are feeling much better
The symptoms you gave were just like when I had a Heart attack. mine was a non stemi ( I think thats right memory not good due to the Hughes syndrome) I think I am right in saying mem can have that too.
It means that it doesn't always show up straight away two blood tests twelve hours apart shows that you have or haven't had a heart attack.
I would now if this happened again phone for an ambulance immediately, which I expect your Doctor did.
A bit embarrasing pehaps but worth it if needed
Good luck

Thank you everyone for your answers.
I have just arrived home from a week in hospital! I took your advice and went to see my gp. I was immediately sent to the cardiac ward were they did a blood test which was negative but as it was 24 hours after the start of the symptoms it was a little late . During the week I have had niggling aches but nothing like the first pain. I am now taking aspirin and statins, have had an ECG, an Echo and they now want to do an Angiogram soon .
Thank you, your comments convinced me to go to the doctors.
Do yougetside affects with Statins?
Hi Jane, Glad you got yourself to A & E!
I take Atorvastatin at quite a high dose of 80mg. I personally have not noticed any side effects with these, but i am aware that lots of other people are intolerant to them with side effects including muscle aches, memory loss.
I'm also aware that different people react differently to different statins, and i'm sure wiser people than I will come along and give you more info.
Take care
Tony
