Hi there, I in a similar position to you. I started on Ezetimibe in January after it was found that 80mg of Atorvastatin wasn’t lowering my LDL cholesterol as far as it should. My last lipid test was a month ago and my total cholesterol was 4.2 but LDL 2.4. Ezetimibe hasn’t made much of a different to my LDL cholesterol level at all. I’m having genetic testing for FH but also for Lp(a). The Lp(a) is thought to make the LDL cholesterol more sticky and if you have high levels then it is believed to be risk factor for premature coronary heart disease. It is a specialist test so it might be worth asking if your levels of this can be checked. There is no treatment for this if levels are raised. I’m currently waiting for results of both of these tests. I’m not getting any side effects from Ezetimibe fortunately.
