I read about a recent study that tries to blame vitamins for the presence of CVD, yes it is another observational study. It does not look at what conventional medicines people are on, and in my opinion is utter tosh. People who take vitamins are normally people who are conscious of their general state of health. These people are likely to be prescribed statins which cause calcification in the arteries as well as lowering of cholesterol, to suggest that if the taker also takes vitamin D that is the culprit is rubbish.

But it is recognised that high supplementation of D3 alone without its cofactors can increase calcium uptake and therefor increase calcification.

I read this paragraph and it summarised the research “The slower reaction time may have other negative outcomes such as potentially increasing the risk of falling and fractures," says senior study author Sue Shapses.” The words may and potentially says a lot about the research, more meaningful research would be observing the number of cases of dementure against the number of hours of sunshine as vitamin D alone is not enough I think you also requires vitamin K
