Basically means that you need to do something about it, 6.5 and above are considered High. Diet, statins etc. Get advice from your GP/dietitian 😀

Thank you for your reply but my doctor said its 17 it meant nothing to me and that's all he said I have high blood pressure should I be worried,?

you need to address all the three blood test numbers,

Blood pressure,

blood glucose and

blood cholesterol lipid numbers.

UK, NHS, GP should be able test for all the three and offer full explanation to understand the numbers and guide lines to control the numbers.

It is your GP's duty to explain the blood test numbers and give options to control cholesterol!

Please go back to your GP. NHS food specialist, no thanks.

Ask your GP for JBS3 risk analysis calculation and full explanation.

Food and drinks intake control, portion control and regular exercise can help towards a healthy life.

You need to wire more information on blood test numbers and your general health for people to give you satisfactory answers.

If you are correct in saying that your cholesterol is 17 this is worrying high & you need to take action. Why have you not questioned your doctor if you don't understand? Doctors are obliged to make sure you know facts - that is what they are there for. Go back to your GP SAP & demand some explanations & answers. In the meantime you may wish to access some information on the internet. This may throw up some queries, which you can have to hand when you visit your doctor.

I am confused with this post. With a cholesterol number of (17) the GP or the doctor has not offered any explanation!

It appears there is more test to be carried out.

Hello all,

I'm a bit worried about my hubby his cholestrol is 5.3 but his blood pressure is 153 / 90. 4 years ago he suffered an extremely stressful incident and had arrythmia and was taken away in an ambulance... It seems the docs have followed up since we moved into another county but apparently all three symptoms are cause for concern. Any advice?

You need to go back to your GP and get information. Is he on blood thinners for his AF.
