How could this happen if my diet and lifestyle is no different? 12 months ago it was 6.7 and since then I have been taking cholesterol lowering drinks every day.
My cholesterol level was 7.6 (ratio 5.... - Cholesterol Support
My cholesterol level was 7.6 (ratio 5.7) this week, but six months ago it was 6.2 (4.1)
Not sure you need a medical opinion on that. At that level I think your GP would put you on statins to bring it down. Mine was 7.8 after a heart attack and I was put on Atorvastatin which caused me big problems(liver function) and I was then precribed Rusavastatin with a graduated increased dose to 10mg a day which has lowered mine to 4.8 and I am hoping it will be lower next month when my next blood test is due. Try cutting out or reducing cheese, pastries, butter/spread and salt. Try oat bran on your cereal and Bergamon tea. Get it reduced it will be worth it to avoid more serious problems - good luck.
Thank you - very helpful.
There is also a seasonal variation in cholesterol levels, particularly in women. This is an interesting link.
Yes, I agree. Thanks.
