Medication side effect leading to Dementia
This is sitting in the list of posts! This reply may bring it to front line.
Like the other post now it is in the front of the system.
Had a GP appointment this morning, took a print out from the Internet to discuss the side effect of Allergy medication. My GP's response was thanks for flagging this and I will investigate and give you an answer soon.
It is worth bringing any side effect to GP.
Which medication are you worried about?
Zirtik Allergy, one a day, have bee taking for over 30 years!
Have both food allergy and summer allergy.
That was a good response from your GP.
If you look up Zyrtec, it is described as having no "anti-cholinergic effects", unlike some of the other over-the-counter products that may be linked with dementia. Choline is a vital nutrient and a lack of it could affect how well our nerves work, for example.
Zyrtec can affect the speed of information processing, which means that it can make learning and remembering more difficult, but unfortunately, this can happen with advancing age anyway!
If you google Zyrtec and Alzheimers on the PubMed site, you will find any experiments that have been done on the subject.
Thank you.
My problem has been, I stop in mid conversation, (do not know the reason), my wife will say I am waiting !, my response will be waiting for what?
This can cause a bit of a problem!!!
After laser on my right eye, I can see better and clear colour now, one problem resolved. Being dyslexic do not help either with life. Managing it very well.
At least I know the reasons for my problems.
Beware of Omneprazole for this very reason.
