Thanks Mike

At least he apologised

" I have been forced to do a U-turn. It is time to apologise for all that useless advice I've been dishing out about fat"

Nice to see the medical profession slowly but surely awaken

The medical profession have alternated between fat and sugar for as long as I can remember as the cause of heart attacks and strokes, and I'm 87. However, I have a 70% blockage to my right carotid artery which reduced blood flow to my brain causing frequent numbness to arm and leg on the left side culminating in my foot feeling like lead. This all happened over 3 week period several time a day. I'm now on Clopidogrel and Atorvastatin, but of course at my age the question is for how long! I've always had a sweet tooth but also been very physical in work and outside activety. Hardly ever overweight and never by much.Had a good diet, as far as possible, if we consider both fat and sugar intake is bound to be considerable over a lifetime. Answer: be active; sensible diet; keep weight within realms of normal and hope your genes are favourable.
