mouth and tongue problems

a couple months ago I was feeling unwell, doctor reckon it was a flu virus, with headache, sore throat and burning in mouth and tongue. Now after that’s better my tongue in front on top is still inflamed and have burning lips and gums. Does anyone had this problem please

I watch what I eat all the time, no acid food, no hot spicey or curry. I have a hiatal sliding hernia but I get lots anxiety and I stress a lot

OK, Food allergy react in different ways, Salicylate is found in many fruits and food, Medicine base.! I found this out the hard way. Upper lip and lower lip swelling inside.

Gum and other swelling. even anti histamine medicine gave me the same problem, I use Zirtek allergy relief medication to control my allergy.

Please go back to check if you had any different food or different medication.

thnks sandy, I hav a naturopath she checks my food allergies. My diet is very basic plain as I have ibsd too on top of this. That’s why I am under a lot of stress all the time

Do you have raised cholesterol ? Has your thyroid been correctly tested ? Your tongue symptoms could be B12 deficiency...

Hi Marz, my b12 is always high so it’s not that. Had blood test and it’s all within normal but I have another appointment with doc tomorrow so will see what else she says.

If you were supplementing B12 at the time of your test then your results will be skewed.

Thyroid tests ? Always obtain copies of results with ranges or access on-line. When Docs say ' normal' they mean in range which nay not be ootimal. NHS very rarely do the correct thyroid tests. Is your cholesterol raised ?

I like Sri Lanka home made toffee. When I eat this, made in Canada by family friend and sent to UK, my mouth feels like sand paper. I do not eat this any more. During this period any food intake give my mouth sand paper feeling for two weeks.!!

Hi sandy, been to doctors today and she prescribed me with 50mg frutonazol for yeast infection in mouth. I myself not sure she’s correct but will try and take for 2 weeks to clear these symptoms. My cholesterol is always on the high side but no problem tony health.

My naturopath says I am b12 deficient from using a red light therapy lamp on my face and head, but my doctor never heard of bms but when I looked up google there’s lots doctors talk abt it on utube. So far my tongue still hurts and just mild burning. Thnks for caring

My naturopath is ordering b12 supplement for me and waiting, my b12 use to be nice and above the limit before this happen. I had blood test in January and my b12 good . So since I had the flu virus and after using red light etc, everything went down hell. I will see what happens when she gets it for me. Some of my supplements has sme b12 in them but she said it’s not enough to help.
