Don't trust EKGs. I had a heart attack and my EKG was normal. Thank God I went to ER and not to a clinic or to my regular MD. At the ER I was given a blood test and the results confirmed I had a heart attack. Go to Emergency - don't wait. Better safe than sorry.

Hi,

There are many factors, age, sex, BP ,Cholesterol and many more. You need to go for a 12 lead ECG and an ultra sound check. Please do not leave it for too long. There are private health screening available for less than £200.00, very good, do a Google for Blue Crest.

When you are in the gym what is the starting heart rate and what is it after 8 minutes? on cool down how long does it take for heart rate to come down to your starting point? Have been informed by a professor that this is a quick and best method of checking your heart function!!!

How much exercise do you usually do and are you prone to indigestion. It never hurts to check things out.

Prima facie appears to be a case of angina. Consult a cardiologist.

If you have any serious pains in your chest get medical treatment immediately . I had a Bluecrest Health Screening which is great for preventing disease, but is not a replacement for medical emergencies.
