I hope I don't offend anyone and my apologies if I do. During the course of my childhood I aquired a scar on my right eyelid and a burn mark on the top of my right hand. Both marks are minimal in appearance. In the last year these have become bothersome to me. I rarely look at myself in the mirror closely but when I do my attention goes to my eyelid and same with my hand. Is there a way to get rid of these?
During the last 10 months I have lost a lot of weight. I have never been self concious of my body but the weight loss has lead to visible stretch marks and sagging skin. I am not understanding why this bothers me? Thanks for listening.

Hello deezlife , welcome to the Changing Faces community. Thank you so much for sharing, I hope that by opening up here it will help with bringing a bit more clarity to the issues that are bothering you.
If you ever need anything from the mod team, you can find us by our user names, as we all have "changingfaces" at the end. You can also find stories that our community members have written on our website here: changingfaces.org.uk/real-s...
Hi. I'm so sorry you're feeling self-conscious and disappointed with yourself over these issues. Everyone on Changing Faces are here because we feel the same, so we all understand and sympathise (but of course that doesn't make it any better for you, I'm afraid). In the UK, Changing Faces has a couple of places where you can go to be shown how to use special makeup to hide scars, etc. I'm sure there are some in the US, although I suppose cost is an issue. Again, cost may be an issue in thinking of plastic surgery, and also medical ways in dealing with sagging skin, etc. You are so not alone in feeling how you do about the things you are self-conscious about. I think the ultimate answer for all of us is to try to accept that we're not perfect (but I haven't learned to do that yet)! Best of luck! xxx
