Reaching out .... thank you Kate Bush ...

Had my birthday not so long ago, and had a good choice of an Amazon voucher from my Mother-in_law.

So treated myself to a copy of an album I didn't have a copy of, but do love. Kate Bush's excellent effort, The Sensual World. I've loved listening to it again, very much so.

On it, is a remarkable tune, called Reaching Out , and it has a remarkable chorus.

Reaching out for the hand ...

reaching out for the hand that smacked ..

Reaching out for the hand to hold

Reaching out for the Star

Reaching out for the star that explodes

Reaching out for Mama

Its talking out about reaching out for the impossible, the difficulty or the painful. But we should never be frightened of that. We cannot connect and talk if we don't reach out, even if we are afraid of what we see as the negatives, the smack, the star exploding. But hinting at the at the good that can happen when you do, the holding of hands.

Thank you to Ms Bush, great tune.
