Music and Wellbeing

It is generally recognised that music can affect people's moods. A study carried out by researchers from McGill University, Montreal and cited on the BBC website shows that music releases a chemical in the brain that has a key role in setting good moods. For many people music can be a refuge to soothe troubled minds and emotions. Music can help us relax, improve mood and motivation, and some say it can increase the efficiency of our brains. Whether you like to sing, play an instrument, dance or listen to music, it can affect your wellbeing. Classical music is not everyone's cup of tea but it helps me to relax when feeling stressed. It can also help when I need to tune out surround sound and concentrate. Does anyone here use music as a way of self-expression, enhancing creativity, relaxing or dealing with stressful situations? Let's hear about it. 😀
