Nerve damage to face after trauma

I recently suffered a serious fall which left me with nerve damage to one side of my face which causes drooping. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues with nerve damage and symptoms of healing. I'm so afraid that it could be permanent.

Hi, I totally get what your saying. I have permanent nerve damage to my left side. Have done for 30 years. How unusual and so horribly unfortunate for it to happen from a fall. What happened? Mine was from surgery to remove a tumour from around the facial nerve. What expectations have the doctors given you? Because if the nerve is severed it will be permanent but it may just be badly bruised, in which case it should gradually come back. Try to stay strong.

Neurologist said that he felt it was permanent but my surgeon is more optimistic. I am having sensations around my nose and lip area. Feels like hairs standing when I lightly run my finger across it. Did you have any feelings like this? I'm so sorry about your injury. I have heard more and more about this for surgeries such as yours.

My wife had an accidental while traveling in Vietnam. She was hit by a moped driver. Can take up to 18 months to get sensation back. After that you have likely reached maximum improvement. I just make sure to kiss her on the other side ❤️
