I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis 2019, having never smoked or had any chest - lung problems in the past, came as a complete surprise to my self and family. Having always been a very active person, taking long walks on a weekly basis, spending holidays either in Scotland or the Lake District. Now I become breathless on exertion and have several coughing fits a day, I was not prescribed any medication, apparently none available. At times I really struggle, have found that Lemon with honey in hot water does help. I know lots of research is ongoing, hopefully a remedy may be found.

Hi Washpan, A very warm welcome to you at the Care Community. So sorry to hear of your health condition, especially as it sprung itself on you as a complete surprise. It makes it hard to take in the news at first.

I'm wondering if ours is the best community to help you. There are lots of different ones under the umbrella of HealthUnlocked, and this particular one caters more for those of us who are carers for other people.

I don't wish to chase you away in any way and you are most welcome to be here but there are other communities where you may find more people who identify with you by having the same or a similar health condition.

You might like to try the British Lung Foundation, a group which our ambassador here belongs to. She may be able to tell you more about it, or you can join by clicking on the button at the top of your page, 'my hub', and typing British Lung Foundation into the search box. That will take you to the page where you can join.

Please take care and I hope you can find some more information and support for your condition. Best wishes.

Hello Washpan, and welcome to you. I am carer for my husband who has sarcoidosis and COPD plus heart disease and back problems. I am also a member of the British Lung Foundation and feel you could also benefit from that forum.

I feel you should see a lung specialist and get proper help with your lung problems. I’m sure there are meds that could help in some way.

Wishing you well. Xxxx
