Monday round-up

Hello all,

I hope the just-passed weekend brought a little happiness to everyone. I had a lovely day with my daughter who visited yesterday, but otherwise the weekend was pretty much business as usual.

A warm welcome to all who have checked in on us over the past week and especially for the two really lovely positive posts we had over the past day. It's always a pleasure to hear from you.

I'm still deep into computer woes, but have just moved forward a little by having managed to book an appointment at my local Apple store for next Monday for a diagnosis, as the patient is very sick and may need a transplant! Once I hear what the problem is, and how expensive the solution, I can decide whether to let it rest in peace and buy another, or to go ahead with a repair. Meantime, please bear with me as I tap away on my very unfamiliar laptop, normally only used when travelling. I get so annoyed sometimes when I press a key and it does something totally unexpected.

I think life can feel very frustrating at the moment, and it's been a long time for many since there was anything much to be able to look forward to. I think it takes a certain amount of strength to try and live in the moment and not let our minds wander off to the 'what if's', but I'm sure that's the best thing if we possibly can.

As secrets22 said in her post though, there is absolutely no shame in admitting to struggling and I do urge anyone who is, to contact their GP surgery/general family practitioner to get advice and help.

Take care all, and wishing you as good a week ahead as is possible.

🙏🙏

Thank you for your Monday roundup Callendersgal, a great post as always. I certainly wish you well with your Apple appointment next Monday. Good luck.

We celebrated Pete’s birthday yesterday and enjoyed a brief time with family. Enough time to enjoy cake I might add.

Feeling fairly upbeat at the moment as our eldest son is improving albeit slowly. He can’t really believe how covid affected him and made him feel and urged us to take care. We’re pretty certain our daughters 40th birthday celebration next month won’t go ahead as planned. We were to hire a private room in an Hotel but I don’t think that will happen now. It’s not a big deal though as we just want to be well and safe. Our daughter is happy just to be with her family.

Thinking of you all and hoping everyone is coping with life as best they can. We’re all here for each other so please don’t feel alone.

Take care xxx😘🥰👍🌈

Hi sassy59, first of all, thanks for the update on your son. I'm so glad he's improving and it must be a huge relief for all of you. Such a shame about your daughter's planned 40th birthday celebration, but it's only sensible to put it off and as you so wisely say, it isn't important so long as all of you stay safe. And now your son has demonstrated personally how horrible it is to have covid19.

So pleased to hear the cake went down well, and that you had a good day. I hope it's followed by a good week. Take care all of you! Hugs to you all. ☘☘☘🌷🌼🌻🌈😊xxx

brilliant post . yes I wish you good luck with your Apple appointment too

Ive no patience with laptops or technology which is why if if wont obey the command of its worker it gets a good thump until it obeys them

One of my friends who is 72 had said to me how if I found I really couldn't cope then there was no shame in reaching out to the doctors and having a chat with them and not to be afraid to use them should I need them and how they are there to help those in psychological distress as well as those physically unwell.

The weekend was good and we had a pub lunch out on Sunday which we enjoyed and some nice walks as well.

Next Sunday will be a roast chicken dinner cooked at casa mia by myself along with some seasonal veg that I have been preparing this afternoon and putting them in the fridge in the mis en place section but we still have tinned veg for back up should we need them!

Tonight its corned beef pie and a root veg mash for a change from mashed potatoes themselves.

It feels strange without any ready dinners in the fridge but we still have things in the pantry should we need them.

How's Chelsea the British blue getting on? Baby is fine and enjoyed her fish this afternoon!

Bit stressed tonight as Jim has got to go and have a camera up tomorrow.

We have postponed this once due to covid and I was worried if we postponed it again in case anything nasty going on.

He is going on hospital transport as I can't go in with him and it's a fair distance away so worried about that too.

Transport promised to deliver him to righr dept.

Best of luck to your Jim for tomorrow!
