Good morning everyone,

After a miserable gloomy weekend of weather, it's nice to see some sunshine peeking through again this morning. Yesterday my daughter and I put off our arranged get-together here at my home as she'd have had to drive on the motorway for several hours to get here, and it just didn't seem like a good idea to put her through that. So we've put it off for next week, hopefully.

I know we've had several new or returning members of the Care Community this week, so just to reiterate a warm welcome to you and I hope you'll find us a useful support.

There were several 'care' posts this week and I'm never quite sure whether that's a good or bad thing! It's what we're here for after all, and I'm always delighted to see some interactions, but then, at the same time, hope that carers aren't having too much of a struggle.

And then there's that over-riding thing lurking in the background of all our lives; the pandemic, which is a huge worry in its own right.

I think on balance that I'm glad we haven't had too many posts from carers who are struggling because of the pandemic anyway. It suggests that most of the vital services you all rely on, are still somehow being delivered.

One thing's for sure. If you are here, you won't be forgotten. There's a small army of us out there who can help. So thanks to all of you who join in and provide your various experiences whenever we are asked for help!

Take care and wishing you all a really good week! 👍🙏😀

What a thoroughly awful weekend it was Callendersgal but I hope you can meet up with your daughter very soon.

We’re waiting to hear the results of our eldest sons covid test. He was unwell over the weekend so he travelled to Tangmere for a test at 7.30pm. I’m hoping for a negative result. Fingers crossed.

Hoping everyone stats safe and well and has a good week. Take care everyone. Xxx🥰😘🌈

Hi sassy59,

Oh what a tense time for waiting for that Covid test result. I do understand as we’ve just been through it with my granddaughter. Firstly it was hard to get, and she had to attend several test centres, secondly her employers were really hostile with her over it, despite the fact that she has to interact with high risk people at work, but thirdly and very happily the test was negative. She’s been poorly but it’s not Covid!

So very much wishing and hoping for a negative for your son too! Do please let us know how it goes! Xx🙏

I will let you know Callendersgal. It’s a tense time indeed. Our son is a Police officer and it was work who suggested he go for a test just to be on the safe side. Glad your granddaughter is ok. Don’t understand the hostility towards her though. Very odd and uncaring.

Stay safe xxxx😘🌈

Yes the hostility was unexpected and uncalled for sassy59. I’m very glad this is just a precaution for your son, but it’s also quite high risk so I’m sure it’s sensible to be tested! Stay safe too! Xxx🌺🌺💖
