Not only another Monday today, but the last couple of days of June. For me that was probably the fastest passing month of this year so far. Life becomes like a speeding train, the older you get!
I've been happy to see a few new members in the Care Community over the past two or three weeks and once again I welcome you to the forum. It is our aim to be of help to all who are caring and I'm sure everyone's pretty fed up with a menu of daily quotations which are only copies of the ones I post daily in the Positive Wellbeing Community.
Although it's been lovely to welcome some newcomers, it does indicate that, now the worst fright about covid19 is passing, and we're trying to get ourselves back to a little bit of normality, those ever present worries over caring are seeping back to the surface again.
So from next week, I won't post quotations here daily. If you particularly like to see them they can be found on the Positive Wellbeing in Self Isolation community.
I'll just post a few lines on Mondays and Fridays as always to let you all know I'm still around.
And if there are any topics on Caring that you'd like to share with us, we'd love to hear from you.
Meantime I hope you all have a really good week, whatever it is you are doing.
Thank you Callendersgal for your thoughtful and caring posts. You do a terrific job on the forum, helping to make everyone feel included and cared for.
Wishing you a wonderful day and week. Welcome to all new members and hope to hear from some of you soon. We’re here for you all.
Hi sassy59, thank you so much and a happy Monday to you. You too do a really sterling job as our Ambassador, always so loving and welcoming. Take care and I hope you have a really good week! xxxx👍🌈🔆💖😊
I have had lots of help from our town volunteers so after th first few weeks I didn't have to go out for shopping, chemist etc. Also our volunteers have been delivering lots of food boxes to those whose income has been cut badly.
Also my husband has been well supported by the catheter nurses and Podiatrist.
It has felt very lonely at times but I have managed to vist my Mum and Daughter staying in their respective gardens.
My husband has coped pretty well with it all but I am getting pretty bored now.
Good to know you’ve been coping and your husband is doing well. It is very boring now especially as the weather isn’t great. At least you’ve managed to see your mother and daughter which is wonderful. Xxxx
I think now is probably harder in many respects than the early stages of the pandemic. We're facing a very long spell of a quite restrictive lifestyle and it can weigh quite heavily I think, without very much to look forward to. But I'm delighted to hear that your husband's been well cared for by his nurses as well as you, and that you've managed some contact with family.
I guess all we can do is to keep putting one foot in front of the other and hoping that before too long we'll gain yet more freedoms.
I agree Sara_2611. I think that June in particular has flown by. In one way that's probably a bit of a blessing but so much of the year's been absolutely consumed by dealing with the virus. I think winter may seem extra long this year.
Ive now found out that it is actually 6t July not 4th as I thought - July 4th is when pubs can open
And yes - if we get more hot weather Il be careful of course -I'll go out with my mask on
I thought I'd test mums reaction & said to her that weather pending Im going to start going out for a bike ride down the road & back on 6th to see what she said & she said yes (so we ll see how long she keeps that up for
Shes just not up for trying to be positive about the virus -I make a psitive remark & immeditely she ll counteract it with a negative one & as the younger generation say "dis-sing" my comment
