Friday's dawned again and with it my final quotation post for you and it's really more relevant for those of us in England at the moment as we get ready for what new relaxations in lockdown bring for us, whether good or bad.
It will almost certainly bring a bit of a rise in covid19 cases, so do please all be extra careful for yourselves and those for whom you care.
How was your week? Like the weather mine's been a bit mixed. I had several days of venturing out a little, followed by a few spent at home, fairly contentedly.
My sister called me excitedly last night to tell me about the new little conservatory she's had built on the back of her house to replace a tumbledown one which her husband had built for her many years ago. Sadly, just like the old conservatory, his health is deteriorating too, so this time she had a builder do it for her and it too became a victim of the pandemic, but has now finally been finished. From the photo she's sent me, it looks just the thing! As much a room as a conservatory it will provide a lovely little retreat for her when she needs some down time from caring. I've told her to go to town on decking it out to suit herself and hang the expense. She might as well enjoy it.
I've been busy experimenting with bread baking this week and after this 'ramble' is completed, I'm off to go and try making my first ciabatta loaf! Has anyone else mastered this? I'm taking my instructions purely from someone on YouTube, so wish me luck! No guarantees, but we'll see!
Whatever your plans are for over the weekend, I hope it's as pleasant as you can make it. Take care and keep safe everyone 🔆🌈
I didn't feel well yesterday and, of course, my thoughts immediately went to 'had I caught Covid19' but I'm a little better this morning so it must be something else. I'm taking it easy today.
Hi Karen, It's a bit of a nervous moment when you don't feel well, isn't it? Hopefully as you're feeling a bit better it's no such thing, but do take extra care and look after yourself! 👍🌈🙏
Had not a bad week thank you. Ventured to a supermarket with my daughter once again and it was ok. So many not wearing masks including the check out people.
I’m pleased for your sister and glad she’s happy with her conservatory/retreat. It was worth waiting for it seems.
I’m not into bread making but hope your ciabatta turns out well. We’re off out for a ride out soon hopefully.
Hi sassy59, shopping's not that relaxing, but it is nice to be able to do those little things we once took for granted. I'm really getting much more into bread making recently but I don't think I'll be doing ciabatta that often. It's not difficult but from start to finish takes 24 hours, give or take.... not very practical. I really do love doing my own pittas now. They are much quicker and really tasty.
Hope you enjoy your ride out today. It's probably the perfect day because it's overcast enough to keep crowds away, but still a nice day for a drive. Enjoy! 😊👍🙏🌈xxx
