A SHOUT OUT TO YOU ALL

Hi everyone,

I’ve just been watching two pigeons on the roof of the building opposite my home. (It’s a magnet for them, as the warm air inside rises and gives them a comfy roost). These two were billing and cooing and obviously have ‘romantic’ intentions towards each other. I suspect a clutch of eggs will shortly be forthcoming.

OK, pigeons can be a nuisance and often earn their nickname of ‘sky rats’, but that’s not really my point.

It’s more that humans and all sentient beings, only really thrive with love and the approval of others. Even in dire circumstances like drought, persecution and war, we cling to each other and our young continue to be born.

And in Caring, most of us do what we do through love.

It’s never been harder to do in these tough times, with not enough funding or practical help being forthcoming, and often little empathy from the public at large, as they have no idea what an endless grind it can be, and so lonely too.

So this is just to say that even when there’s no-one else, we have a strong community here and I’m so proud of the way we all get on and stand up for each other, being supportive with no hint of the awful online abuses that seem to crop up in lots of social media forums.

So thanks everyone for keeping this a safe and good place to come to, knowing that we’ll receive the mutual support and love from others that we all so need.

And to anyone who’s having an extra difficult struggle today, thinking of you all and hoping for easier times to come, for everyone.

Thank you Callendersgal what a lovely supportive post. I agree that we care for and support each other in times of crisis and just in general.

I’m pleased to be part of this wonderful community and wish everyone a peaceful Sunday and a good week ahead.

I’m off to the cinema later to see Frozen 2 with family. Then babysitting granddaughter this evening. All good fun! Xxx

Yes it can be very hard at times but all of us that are carers just get on with it. Mainly out of love. We face a lot of injustice and many of us struggle to keep it all going, financially and emotionally.

If it come down to it and I could choose to be anywhere it would always be at my Husband's side.

Hi Callendersgal, thank you for your lovely post. I have just got back from spending a few days with my parents. My dad has a neurological condition called MSA and he cannot speak, swallow or mobilise and my poor mum is struggling to look after him even with the support of carers.

The love they still have is heartwarming to see and the time I spend there is so valuable. You realise as you get older that the most important thing in life is love.

Sending lots of love and strength to all the carers out there whether you care for your family at home or they are being cared for in hospital or elsewhere. The love you have for them is the most important thing.
