My card to you all might not seem all that Christmassy at first sight, but the picture inspired me as it made me think of all of you. Grasping the other person's hand to help them through. Isn't that what Christmas spirit is really all about, together with a hope that things will become better?
I just wanted to send seasons greetings to everyone and to say that I hope you'll all be able to enjoy at least some aspects of Christmas this year. I know it's seldom what the ads would have us believe and isn't the happiest time for lots of people, The ads take no account of what might be happening, from emotional upset, bereavement, loneliness and isolation, through to the sheer exhaustion and exasperation of caring for someone else. But whatever you are thinking and feeling about it all, I wish you all peace in your hearts and hope that you can find a way to pause and enjoy at least a part of this midwinter festival.
I’ve already enjoyed the bit I like best, and that’s being out and about beforehand, enjoying the early darkness, with its lights and decorations, making my own Christmas cards and having a few outings with my husband. He’ll be sleeping all day on Christmas day as he’s on night duty over Christmas, so I’ll be celebrating solo, but we’ll enjoy dinner together when he wakes up, and I can at least rejoice in being warm and comfortable with lots of treats to eat.
And that’s as much as I ever really hope for. How are you all going to be spending Christmas? Even if it’s going to be a difficult time for you, do post and let us know how you are feeling about the ‘festive’ season.
Thank you for the wonderful Christmas card and heartfelt post. You’re such an inspirational and valued member of the Care Community with your caring ways and thoughtful words.
Pete and I will be having our daughter, son-in-law, grandsons and youngest son here on Christmas Day so it will be lively to say the least. They won’t be round until 3 so that gives Pete and I time to prepare.
I wish you and everyone on this caring community peace and happiness for Christmas. I will be thinking of you all.
Thanks Carole, (or sassy59!), for those kind words. That's probably the nicest Christmas present I'll have this year and it's really heart warming to know I've been appreciated. I hope you know that you too are so warm and supportive, and I'm so delighted to have you as a fellow Ambassador and member of this group.
I'm so pleased to hear you'll be enjoying a family Christmas. Peace and blessings to all of you.
Lovely card Callendersgal, thank you for the kind Christmas wishes, I'll be going over to the family home where my sister will cook for our brother, herself and me she'll then bring me back home and we'll go and spend some time with mum, then on the Saturday my sister and i are going to Longleat for the day, I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for the support I've received this year and hope you all have a good 2020 xx
