Here we are at the end of another week and August is almost gone! In some parts of the UK we’ve had a few days of very sunny weather which was a good end for the school holidays, although it is a relief when the really high temperatures end. Last night the BBC weatherman reminded us that 1 September is the start of meteorological autumn so hopefully we can look forward to a good harvest.
What have you all been up to this week? If you have anything you would like to share, good or not-so-good, please let us know.

Good morning MAS_Nurse, I cannot believe we almost into September. Our grandson is going back to school on Tuesday and our granddaughter will be starting school on the 9th. Time passes so quickly.
We enjoyed a carnival on Bank holiday Monday and it was great weather. Glad it’s cooled down now though.
Heard sad news from my sister about her brother in law who has advanced myeloid leukaemia. The prognosis isn’t good. His wife is in a care home as she has advanced dementia. Life is cruel at times.
Pete is doing ok apart from his back. We dread winter but I try hard to keep Pete well.
Enjoy a good weekend everyone and make the most of any good weather we may have. Xxxx 😘
Hi MAS_Nurse, I don't know about you, but the last couple of days I've definitely felt a hint of autumn in the atmosphere already. It's hard to pinpoint what it is. The days have been bright and warm but there's something subtle about the light that changes at this time of the year.
And, believe it or not, I've been busy with Christmas cards. No... not writing them yet, or even compiling lists, but one of my hobbies is card making and it's a really enjoyable thing, setting to in earnest with cutting, embossing, selecting papers and all that goes with being creative.
I live in such a small space that there's no dedicated room for crafting, and there's absolutely no doubt when I've been 'at it' as the living room looks like a shipwreck when I'm mid creative flow. My poor husband groans because often there's not a single chair left to rest on and the cat adds to the confusion by stealing bits and pieces and taking them away to play with.
Still, at least I'm happy!
I hope there weren't too many stresses and strains for our members this week and that the weekend will send a bit of respite for as many of us as possible.
