Where To Donate

Morning everyone, my mum sadly passed away last Monday, does anyone know where I could donate unopened Tena Incontinence Pads and Slips. I also have unused Tena 3 in 1 wash cream and Tena wash mousse. I want them to go to people in need. Thanks

I gave those sort of things to our Hospice charity shop. They were soon sold to those who needed them

Hi Uzula, First of all may I offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your mum last Monday. It's so good of you to be thinking of helping others at this sad and probably busy time for you.

I suppose the PC answer is that if they were supplied on prescription to your mum, they are supposed to be handed in to the source they came from. But we all know they generally aren't then allowed to be reissued, which is such a waste. So a simple way to dispose of them might be through an Age UK charity shop. I've seen them for sale in my local one and they seem to sell well, plus the charity then does benefit from their sale.

But whatever you decide, once again, I am sorry for your recent loss and send you my very best wishes.

Thank you! Actually I bought them myself on my credit card, I could probably get a refund from Boots for the pants but I can`t be bothered even though the money would come in handy. Can`t be bothered with anything at the minute I just feel so blooming tired.

Decided on nursing home, thanks

Great Uzula. And if you quite understandably feel exhausted, leave all of those 'things to do' that aren't essential, firmly at the bottom of your list and only do the things you must do, for now.

Sorry for the loss of your mum.

Your tiredness is a natural reaction to bereavement.

Unless you plan to try for a ferund from Boots, the pads can be left till later.

Try making lists.

Write down everything you have t do,

Then make 4 sub lists,

What you have to do today

What you have to do this week

What you have to do this month

What can be done any time.

This helps me get through life ,

When you are recently bereaved it can be hard to sort priorities out.

Sometimes writing things down can reallly help.

Look after yourself, eat properly, please try not to stress about the small stuff

I’m glad I could help in a small way.

When you are recently bereaved, things can seem important, when they actually be left TIL later.

You may find that in casual conversation, you will come across someone who knows someone who could make good use of the incontinence products ,which are so expensive.

I my mum uses these products, the type provided by the local incontintinence service make her sore,so she pays for her own.look after yourself

Hello Uzula, so sorry to hear of your sad loss. I would try a local nursing home perhaps or a hospice charity shop. Either way they should be well received.

Take care xxxxx
