Feel Good Friday - feel good about yourself-

Hello all, I am late today posting this but the reason being I have been in a quandary as to what to write today? Do I write an inspirational quote, or give you info on the latest Flu vaccine to have for yourselves and your loved one. Or just chat about what worked for me when my father in law had a very bad day. Then it came to me - why not ask you what works for you when things get tough.

So here goes, what is the 'something' that your loved one needs, what works for you? Is it music or a walk in the park kicking the fallen leaves, having 'time out' to just be yourself? Perhaps its sharing a cuppa with someone who understands, and there is no need to talk - just be there.

What helps you? - By sharing it with the other members of the community it could also help them.

Enjoy the week end, and thank you for just being here on this lovely caring community.

Best wishes, MAS Nurse.

What a good idea MAS_Nurse, asking what works for us is a thoughtful thing to do.

At this present time with Pete in hospital what works for me is being supported by family but also by the amazing people on this community and HealthUnlocked. It’s been totally overwhelming and is helping Pete and I through this difficult time.

I wish everyone a peaceful, happy weekend. Be well. Xxxx

Hi MAS_Nurse,

What helps me the most is probably regular meditation practice and I've been a practitioner for some years now. It's not always a soothing thing in itself. It can be very frustrating when you are worried or restless and is actually quite challenging to sit quietly and observe your breath or bodily sensations and, like going to a gym to exercise it's very easy to tell yourself you don't have the time for it. But just as going to the gym tones up your muscles, meditation tones up your mind and can make you much more accepting of the bad things that happen in life, instead of just appreciating the good.

Ultimately it teaches you to be calmer person, and this can sometimes rub off on those round about you, including those you care for.

Anyway, I hope everyone has overcome the challenges of the past week and that there will be a little bit of relaxation for all over the coming weekend. I'd like to send special warm wishes to my co-ambassador sassy59 who's having a really tough time at the moment and to anyone else who is finding life a real struggle at present. I share in sassy59's wish for a peaceful and happy weekend for everyone.
